SCREAMIN NEWS: SPEAKING AT THE ALBERTA TEACHER’S ASSOCIATION CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
This past weekend, we were invited to speak at the Alberta Teacher’s Association’s annual Career and Technology Conference, held in Canmore, Alberta. This was a huge privilege for us, and on top of the great speaking experience we were able to meet and speak with some amazing people!
We spoke twice during the conference – one on Friday and one on Saturday. The first presentation was in conjunction with Paul Bohnert, a middle school teacher from Lethbridge (and one of our middle school teachers!) regarding the new curriculum currently being phased in. JR and I were brought on to discuss how our experiences with Screamin Brothers connected to the various aspects of the new learning system. For example, what motivated us to start the company could connect to what might motivate a student to create a project in class.
The second presentation was Saturday’s lunchtime keynote, during which we spoke about Screamin Brothers as a whole. this included some of the challenges we have faced and the strategies we have used to overcome them throughout our journey. The crowd was huge, I guess someone must have heard we were giving away free ice cream!
Overall, the weekend was an amazing experience, and we are very fortunate to have been able to speak, but also to make contacts with many awesome people! Screamin Brothers donates 5% of net profits to youth organizations locally and internationally. Thank you for supporting us! Thanks for reading and see you soon!
